Rule variations[edit]
- Seven specific pieces are used in Tangram puzzles. However, in theory, any set of polygon works as pieces, and such puzzles are more generally called dissection puzzles.
History[edit]
Although Sam Loyd (USA) fradulently claimed that this was his invention, Tangram was around in China since the early 19th century. First mention of the puzzle is from 1815.[1]
