Sandwich

From WPC unofficial wiki

Rules[edit]

Place the given letters into the grid so that each row and column contains each letter exactly once. Blacken two cells in every row and column. One cell will remain empty in each row and each column. Clues outside the grid indicate all the letters between two black cells in the corresponding row or column in the correct order. (Blank rows/columns denote there is no letter between the two black cells.)

History of the puzzle[edit]

According to Matúš Demiger (Slovakia), "BLT Sandwich" from 2013 Japan Nationals [1] may have been the influence. However, in that puzzle, the clues were ordered alphabetically. Nonetheless, since there's an additional element about the order of the clues, it's safe to cite Matúš as an originator of the genre.

See also Doppelblock, a similar puzzle to this. However, this puzzle shouldn't be considered as a Doppelblock variant considering how blank cells and Doppelblock don't go well together.
