Pairing

Rules

Find a shape that can be created in two different ways by putting together two of the given pieces, so that in total each piece is used exactly once. All pieces can be rotated and reflected. An empty grid will be given to draw the shapes.

History of the puzzle

Appeared on WPC 2019/Round 12, an "innovations" round. The puzzles were written by Roland Voigt.

Similar puzzle called "Polyomino Addition" is published on Erich Friedman's blog. The difference between Pairing is that combinations of polyominoes are already given.
